先週の日曜日にチャリティーマーケットがありました ~Another Big Charity Event in Torrance, CA~

今晩は。

アップデート遅くなってしまいましたが．．．先週の日曜日はトーランスの美術館の敷地内でBRIDGE USAさん主催の”熱い”チャリティー・マーケットのイベントに行ってきました。
米国在住の日本人には嬉しい「たこ焼き屋さん」や、幼いバレリーナの卵たちが両手にぽんぽんを持って一生懸命に応援ソングを踊るパフォーマンスなど、サイドのエンターテインメントも確りと充実した大きなイベントでした。

 会場ではライブのアートオークションや手芸販売なども盛り上がっており、ここ南カリフォルニアにおける支援活動の熱のすさまじさに改めて突き動かされるものを感じました。
イベントで集められた義援金総計額は４／１１現在で$20,399.60！ということですが、
今でも各地から寄付したいという声が続々と掛かっている様子です！

三月から計画を練り続け成功に至った今回のような大きめのイベントがところどころで単発的に起こっている中、規模は小さいながら続けていく精力的な活動も後を絶ちません。

Last Sunday in Torrance, there was a flea market event to raise fund for Japan Red Cross Society.
The event hosted by BRIDGE USA was blessed with sunny and pleasant weather.
People were enjoying great foods and wonderful entertainment including cute dance performances by the children group.

Mr. Ishii, the executive of BRIDGE USA, said the idea of making this event happen as company was raised and started right after the news of tsunami in 3/11.
This flea market was one of the bigger events with great numbers of gathered volunteers. The calculation of fund raised approximates to $20,400 as of 4/11... BRIDGE USA website informs this number is still growing!!
 
While many big fundrasing events like this and others that we have documented so far are done with many success, there are still many medium-size charity events coming up all around greater Los Angeles area.
There are definitely more hopes and something to look forward to.
